Bik's Week 12 NFL Picks

We're sticking with the quick write-ups until things go hay-wire for me since we've now had 3 weeks in a row above .500.

Seahawks, Eagles, Bills, Bengals all on byes this week - the final week for byes. Home Teams are in CAPS.
Saints (-8.5) over FALCONS
The Saints beat the Falcons 17-14 on Thursday Night.

Buccaneers (+9) over LIONS
Was I the only one concerned at Detroit’s inability to slow down Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger? I couldn’t have been right? I think we might have forgotten an important rule – The Detroit Lions are a tortured franchise that we can’t assume that when their 2 biggest division rivals are playing backup QB’s, the division isn’t locked up.

Jaguars (+10) over TEXANS
Speaking of things that are concerning. A coach comes back from a health scare, pulls the young QB after 1 interception, gets booed, and makes the pulled QB a starter? That idea won’t blow up at home... Not a chance.

Vikings (+4) over PACKERS
After 2 Weeks of backing the Packers and Scott Tolzien/Seneca Wallace.... I’m going against them... Which means that they’ll probably cover this.

CHIEFS (-4.5) over Chargers
Don’t over-think yourselves with that KC performance last week. Heard a stat that Manning got the ball out of his hands on average 2.1 seconds per play against the Chiefs last week. Whole gameplan was designed to keep the Chiefs pass-rushers at bay – don’t know if that will happen with Phil Rivers and San Diego.

DOLPHINS (+4.5) over Panthers
Everybody got to watch the Panthers take down the big-bad Patriots after taking down another high profile team in San Francisco. And now they get to face a high profile team for the wrong reasons in Miami. So why take the Dolphins? Because too many people are backing the Panthers in this spot when they really shouldn’t – It’s a classic let-down spot coming off those 2 big wins and 2 division rival games on the schedule.

BROWNS (-1.5) over Steelers
I honestly have no idea why – maybe because I don’t trust Pittsburgh this season, maybe because I’m still holding out hope that Browns make the playoffs.... 1 of these is a misguided notion. We’ll find out which 1 this week.

RAMS (-1) over Bears
The Bears stink. They tried to hand the Ravens the game and the Ravens said “no no please you take it, we insist!” Ray Rice finally went off against the Bears and I’m pegging Zac Stacy to do the same.

RAVENS (-3.5) over Jets
I’m well aware of the flip-flop tendency but the Ravens at home are a different team so I reckon they win this FG Fest.

RAIDERS (+1) over Titans
HOME DOG!!! Gotta say I was wildly impressed by the Raiders last week and this is a brutal spot for both teams... so I’ll take the home team.

CARDINALS (-2.5) over Colts
I tried warning you 2 weeks ago when they were 4-4 but these Cardinals might be good. And I’ve said the Colts aren’t and once again they got lucky last week against the Titans.

Cowboys (+2.5) over GIANTS
No... the Giants are not back. It’s not happening. They played the Tolzien-led Packers, The Raiders, the Barkley-led Eagles, and Minnesota. They should win those 4 games. They finally face a half-decent team with an actual quarterback... There will be a lot of points in this game and it could just be whoever gets the final possession – but I think the Cowboys are just the better team.

PATRIOTS (+2.5) over Broncos
The Patriots aren’t losing 2 in a row, especially a game at home that’s on Sunday night. It’s just not happening. Plus, I called for it a while ago but now that the temperatures are dropping... let’s see how Peyton performs now in the cold. And HOME DOG!

REDSKINS (+5.5) over 49ers
Colour me unsurprised by the ‘Niners recent struggles. Now set them on stage for Monday Night and despite all the turmoil in DC, I feel like the grand stage with a big name team coming to down means that the HOME DOG tries to run wild and do some creative things to pull out the victory. Winning cures all and a win settles the rocking ship for the DC Boys.

This Week: 0-1-0
Last Week: 7-5-3

This Season: 73-83-6
