Bik's Week 11 Picks: TJ's Takeover

To start, this isn't Bik. He is off in Vegas this weekend. And I can only imagine he is salivating at the idea of a Sunday of football in the gambling capital of the world. Since he works so hard with his Bik's Picks I figured it was only fair to give him a weekend off. Time for me to take my hand at this picking against the spread thing. Because he can't get away from it I will have Bik's Picks in this post as well.

I am going to provide insight into each matchup but don't look too deep into it. I am still new to the NFL and am really just flying off the cuff.

Here we go. Week 11. Rookie v Veteran. Pride on the line (As a note I am not looking at Bik's selections until after I make mine)

Home team in CAPS

Cardinals at FALCONS (-10)

Since starting the season 4-0 the Cardinals have looked brutal. Their schedule hasn't exactly been favourable the last couple weeks, and this week is no exception. The Falcons coming off their first loss of the season will have something to prove at home.

TJ: Falcons -10
Bik: Cardinals +10

Buccaneers (-1.5)at PANTHERS

Lots of questions surrounding Cam Newton and his ability to lead the Panthers. This could be the turnaround statement game he needs. The Bucs defense is suspect against the pass and could be Newtons breakout game this year. They will have to stop the Muscle Hamster Doug Martin first.

TJ: Panthers +1.5
Bik: Buccaneers -1.5

Browns at COWBOYS (-8)

A Cowboys win puts them 1 game behind the division leading Giants. If that isn't motivation enough to beat up on a Browns team that is really not that good. If the Cowboys want any chance of making the playoffs they need to win the winable games ie: this one. Chance Browns cover but it's time the 'Boys make a statement.

TJ: Cowboys -8
Bik: Cowboys -8

Packers (-3.5) at LIONS

I don't bet against the Pack.

TJ: Packers -3.5
Bik: Packers -3.5

Jaguars at TEXANS (-15)

Can you say mis-match? The Jaguars are the lowest scoring team in the league and the Texans have given up the 3rd fewest points against. The Texans will really only need 15 points total to cover the spread.

TJ: Texans -15
Bik: Jaguars +15

Jets at RAMS (-3)

This is a tough one. The Rams look like they are the better team, but they aren't exactly winning games handedly. The Jets locker room appears to be in turmoil and often that means turmoil on the field. For some reason I feel the Jets can keep it close though. I'll go with a Rams win but Jets to cover.

TJ: Jets +3
Bik: Rams -3

Eagles at REDSKINS (-3.5)

When one of the quickest, hardest to tackle QB's cant get the job done behind an O-line with more holes than a hobos sock, what makes you think the backup will fare any better? Washington doesn't have the greatest defense but it should be sufficient enough to let RG3 be mediocre and still get a win.

TJ: Redskins -3.5
Bik: Redskins -3.5

Bengals (-3) at CHIEFS

It took the Chiefs until week 10 just to hold a lead. That pretty much sums up how bad the Chiefs are. The Bengals are more well rounded and I wouldn't be surprised if AJ Green scores multiple times en route to a pretty easy win. The Chiefs only chance is to make sure they cover AJ and DO NOT turnover the ball (tough for the Chiefs to do).

TJ: Bengals -3
Bik: Bengals -3

Saints (-5) at RAIDERS

It looks like the Saints might have turned things around. They still have issues on the defensive end of the ball but their offence is good enough to bail them out. This looks like one of those games where the offence runs wild and single handedly wins them the game. The Raiders defence just can't handle what the Saints can do.

TJ: Saints -5
Bik: Saints -5

Chargers at BRONCOS (-8)

Every year the Chargers find some way to disappoint. This year has been no exception. And you will see this game be the nail in the coffin. The Manning lead Broncos are proving tough to beat, and a with a win already in San Diego it's tough not to take them to win again.

TJ: Broncos -8
Bik: Chargers +8

Colts at PATRIOTS (-9)

Might not have the same intrigue as years past but still an interesting game this weekend. Luck has the Colts looking playoff bound, and this will be a real test to see how he fares against a legitimate playoff team. The Patriots offence will prove to much for the Colts to handle but I expect Luck to keep them in it with a likely late game, mean nothing score to cover.

TJ: Colts +9
Bik: Colts +9

Ravens (-3.5)at STEELERS

The loss of Big Ben for Pittsburgh won't be easy to take. He has been great this year. Byron Leftwich will be stepping in to try and fill his shoes. I think the difference is going to come down to defence. My guess is a Ravens pick-six seals the deal late in the 4th giving the Ravens plenty of room to cover.

TJ: Ravens -3.5
Bik: Ravens -3.5

Bears at 49ERS (-4.5)

The biggest question surrounding the Monday Nighter is whether or not the starting QB's will even start. Both Alex Smith and Jay Cutler were knocked out of their last game with Concussions. Smith has passed his tests but Cutler doesn't look as promising. I don't expect this to be a high scoring game, and for that reason alone I will take the Bears plus the points.

TJ: Bears +4.5
Bik: SF -4.5

Picks the same: 7
Picks different: 6
